Moravian Environmental Stewardship Conference
Date: 4/29 - 05/01

Today we live in a technological world that has separated us from a life that only a generation ago was much more connected to the natural world. We struggle personally, corporately and spiritually in the church to be the Christian stewards of God’s world that we are called by God to be. Yet our common life in congregations brings together many gifts and opportunities for caring for creation as well as for forming effective environmental stewards to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.

The 2nd Moravian Conference on Environmental Stewardship, co-sponsored by Laurel Ridge and the provincial Commission on Church & Society, will bring together Moravians from across many congregations who share a passion and desire to grow intentional environmental stewardship ministry in the local church and share ideas and resources that will enhance and empower this important work.

The conference begins with dinner on Friday evening, April 29, and runs through brunch on Sunday morning, May 1. Participants will stay at Higgins Lodge; in 2010 the conference was just $75 per person and we will know soon if the cost will stay the same or increase. Registration materials will be available at www.laurelridge.org and from the Board of Christian Education, 722-8126. (Rick Sides)
