Summer Camp Counselor Between May 19, 2025 and August 2, 2025

Join our team at Laurel Ridge Camp, Conference, and Retreat Center as a summer camp counselor! We’re looking for energetic young adults who love the outdoors and have a passion for sharing their faith with campers of all ages.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Being a summer camp counselor is a rewarding way to spend the summer working with campers of all ages. You’ll partner with volunteer counselors in each cabin, with volunteers rotating weekly. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to build your resume while gaining valuable and diverse skills.

Join our team at Laurel Ridge Camp, Conference, and Retreat Center in Housekeeping! We’re seeking enthusiastic and skilled individuals who can provide our guests with clean and welcoming facility.

Job Summary:

● This is a part-time, hourly position with hours varying each week based on demand, as scheduled by the Guests Services Coordinator. The Housekeeper is responsible for general cleaning tasks throughout Laurel Ridge and for reporting any maintenance needs to the Facilities Manager.

Essential Functions:

● Perform routine cleaning in bedrooms, bathrooms, main halls, conference areas, and main bathrooms, including general cleaning, collecting linen and trash, arranging furniture, setting up conference areas, restocking amenities, changing light bulbs, adjusting thermostats, closing windows, and locking doors.

● Carry out detailed cleaning tasks periodically, such as washing and changing mattress pads and bedspreads, sanitizing fixtures, cleaning walls and paneling, and washing interior windows.

● Monitor cleaning supplies and inform the Guest Services Coordinator when orders are needed.

● Report maintenance issues to the Facilities Manager.

● Care for plants and flowers throughout the Lodge, contributing to a pleasant environment for guests.

● Perform other duties as assigned.

What to Expect:

● Serve as a resource to help both campers and counselors create a meaningful and enjoyable camp experience.

● Assist with program activities during worship, daily events, and evening campfires.

● Provide support during camp activities and specialized tracks.

● Contribute to the care and cleanliness of the camp, including the kitchen, dining hall, bathrooms, dishwashing area, and other common spaces as needed.

● Assist with camp maintenance, including minor repairs, small construction projects, and landscaping tasks.

● Act as a positive role model for the entire camp community through interactions with campers, volunteers, and staff.

● Report to the Camp Director and Facilities Manager and the Program Manager

Join our team at Laurel Ridge Camp, Conference, and Retreat Center as a part-time cook! We’re looking for enthusiastic and skilled individuals to work under the Food Services Manager, preparing fresh meals and delivering excellent customer service.

 

Job Summary:

● The food services Manager/Head Cook will oversee all cooks and food services staff, working collaboratively with the Guests Services Coordinator to ensure the dining needs of rental groups and individuals are met. Additionally, all cooks will coordinate with the Program Manager to fulfill the dining requirements of the Summer Camp. ServSafe Certification is preferred.

Essential Functions:

● Work under the supervision of the Food Services Manager/Head Chef.

● Collaborate with the food services team to prepare and cook meals.

● Assist with cleaning the kitchen, food serving areas, and dining room after meals.

● Remove all trash from the kitchen and dining area after each meal.

● Ensure dishes are cleaned both during meal preparation and after meals are completed.

● Prepare all meals buffet-style, with an emphasis on scratch cooking to offer high-quality, fresh meals.

● Oversee part-time cooks, ensuring consistency in food preparation and presentation.

● This position requires flexibility, with nights and weekends depending on guest schedules and events.

As a summer camp and conference center, we provide a dynamic and unique work environment. We operate two kitchens during the summer to meet the needs of our guests and staff.

What You’ll Be Doing:

● Work with the Program Manager to provide overall support during the summer camp season, including but not limited to:

○ Be a resource to help both campers and counselors have a meaningful camp experience.

○ Collaborate with the Program Manager to provide program support during worship, activities, and daily campfires.

○ Assist in program support for camp activities.

○ Serve as a role model for the entire camp community through interactions with campers, volunteers, and staff.

○ Help organize and lead team-building activities for campers.

○ Coordinate and facilitate group discussions on relevant topics for campers.

Join our team at Laurel Ridge Camp, Conference, and Retreat Center as a Mission Camp Staff. We’re looking for energetic young adults who love the outdoors.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Mission Camp Weeks

● During each week of Mission Camp, Staffers will be housed at Tise lodge or Higgins Lodge as Mission Camp staff.

● Staff is to assist the Mission Camp Deans with programming as requested

● Staff is to assist the Construction Manager(s) with on-site supervision of projects.

● Staff is the liaison between the church groups, project residents and the construction managers.

 

Non-Mission Camp Weeks

● Assist the Facilities Manager on projects around camp as needed.

● Work with the Program Manager on programming for future weeks of Mission Camp.

● Work with Homeowners to finish projects started, but unable to be completed by Mission Camp teams.

● Other duties and support around Laurel Ridge as needed.
